Aidilfitri As A Pearly Gates

What is Syawal means to you?
The way you call it, Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Eid Mubarak or anything.
What does that means to you?

Yes, your own personal definition.

We always heard that the month of Syawal is the month of victorious for Muslims. That is what we heard. But when you grow older, you'll find a derivation in everything you heard, read, or learn. You will make everything distinctive by your means, without drawing any contradictions with the fundamentalist statements.

To me Syawal (especially the first day of Syawal) is like a gate. A gate that you reach, after a month of walking, through the road called, Ramadhan. The road of Ramadhan is full of thorns, because along the road, you can find lots of trees. And the trees give us a delicious ripe juicy fruits that you can pick anytime you like, if you work hard enough to climb it.

The exact question I ask myself on the first day of Syawal is,
"Did I work hard enough to pick the fruits from the trees, or I just hurt myself by all its thorns?"

And when you are at the pearly gates, the moment you make your first step to the month, you will get the answer.

Do you feel reborn, or it is the same old you?

In the preach after Aidilfitri Prayer this morning, the Ustaz said,
"Ramadhan seharusnya dirindui, tetapi Aidilfitri seharusnya disapa sahaja..".

Selamat Hari Raya, maaf zahir batin if any of my poem or entry offended you. :)
